The October 2009 issue will be on Securing land for housing and urban development.
It will include papers on land and the circular railway in Karachi, and collective land ownership in Thailand (and its use for housing for low-income groups). It will also include case studies of the Urban Poor Development Fund in Cambodia and of the Beddington Zero Energy Development (BedZED) in London, a large mixed-use housing development that sets new standards for reducing carbon dioxide emissions and combining ecological and social concerns.

October 2009: Securing land for housing and urban development. Deadline for submissions already passed.
April 2010: Migration and mobility and the implications for local governance and local development.
Deadline for submissions: 15 September 2009.
October 2010: Addressing youth issues with a particular focus on unemployment. Deadline for submissions: 15 March 2010.
There will be supplements in most issues on adapting cities to climate change and papers may be submitted on this topic at any time.
